I used to Live in Oklahoma, If you know anything about the United States then you know Oklahoma is set right in the middle, with no mountains to truly speak of.There are some Pretty Places to go in Oklahoma but they are few and far in between.
Like Turner Falls and Broken Bow!
I lived Close to Draper Lake and Oddly enough it was beautiful there too, Kinda Just proves that all of Gods Creations are Magical and Wonderous.
I recently moved to Utah, the Rocky Mountains and the Great Salt Lake. So far I am Loving it!
Once a week I try to get out of the City and Travel to the Mountains, either to view the valley or to travel through the canyon.
At first trying to hike up the mountain proved challenging, Lexi and I were just not used to the altitude.But slowly Our adventures became things of Legends.
On one such hike we found someone had placed this little bird houses in the trees.
We Often would Take Our Best Friend with us on our Many adventures, Hank is a great help getting up and down the mountain.
And it helps that Lexi Thinks that Hank is her "best friend"!!!
We stop and explore, enjoy the sites and take in the wonder of God's Creation.
I mean Come on Look at this view!
Its something straight from the movies!
I almost wish I could have pulled up a chair and just stayed the night!
Can you Just imagine what it would look like early in the morning, or even at sun set!
What a sight to behold!
The Green in this Pictures gives me chills, Questions come to my head and then are gone faster then I can even answer.
All I feel is Peace in this environment, Away from the Hussle and Bussle of normal Human Life!
At one point on our hike Lexi wanted to play Hide and Seek!Which involved her going through tall grass and behind trees. All of which was a foot or two off the trail.
Questions Like: Is it Safe? What kind of things are lurking in this grass?
Part of me wanted to be "that type of mom" and let her run though the grass laughing, and part of me wanted to pull her out and tell her all about the bugs, snakes and all other little things that go creepy crawly in the mountains.
So I decided on a Healthy middle ground, I let her run in some grass that looked relatively safe while I took pictures.
She must have gotten bug bites from the tall grass, or skin irritation, because the next day we were putting Hydrocortisone cream on the itchy spots.
Hank became our new Hiking Buddy for the summer (2017).
Lexi would not go on a hike unless Hank came along, it was a good thing, because when she got tired Hank had more energy then me, and took over on helping Lexi along.
Hiking with a Preschooler is like, Sitting in traffic, you will eventually get where your going but you might take twice as long to get there.
But Hiking this way gives me more time to enjoy the view, you don't get these views in Oklahoma. I am not saying that Oklahoma doesn't have some of the best Skys, but every state in unique and I am so happy to get to spend so much time in this State of Utah, where the mountains are like my back yard.
This is my "Happy Place" Where is yours? Do you have one? Maybe it's time to get off the couch and put down your phone and get out and see what God intended for us to see!in I heard somewhere that nature is a good way to destress and unwind from the busy lives we lead in the world we live into today.
Just saying, Maybe it's a good idea to "take to the hills" in search of Peace!

- Paint my Large Canvas (idea: go to the mountains and spend 2 days painting in while camping)
- Started a Podcast with Friends

-Start Posting on my blog more regularly
-and many more! (to much to post here)
